Artists for the Risen King (ARK) began with a dream of inspiring young people to become musicians.
The ARK Ensemble was formed after a debut performance for Easter service in 2007 at the
First Korean United Methodist Church.
The name 'Artists for the Risen King' is derived from our mission
to glorify our King, Jesus Christ, by holding ensemble concerts; creating performance opportunities for
young aspiring musicians; and raising financial support for their musical studies. ARK also has embraced
the needs of children living in East Asian and Caribbean orphanages.
The ensemble has given three concerts sponsored by Lake Forest College since July 2007 and has been
invited to perform at various venues including the Noontime Concert Series at the University of Chicago;
the Generation Next Composition Concert sponsored by the Music Institute of Chicago;
the Korean Art Song Concert of Voice Ensemble; and the Oaxaca Night Mission Concert,
all of which provided financial assistance for the two music majors studying at a prestigious university,
worship concert titled, 'Plant-A-Seed in North Korea' and the 'House of Angels' orphanage in La Romana,
Dominican Republic.
The first three concerts were presented with the sponsorship of the Ensemble's founder and artistic director,
Dr. Soo Young Lee and her friends. Upcoming Beethoven Concert begins its third season. This concert
will be held at the Anderson Chapel of North Park University.
The ensemble strives to reach the highest goal in which this concert will be a stepping stone for the future years to come.
The concert ticket proceeds and your sponsorships for ARK performances will directly benefit the scholarship and
orphanage support projects.
ARK is seeking donors and sponsors to fulfill its important mission. Your financial support in any amount
can bring the gift and blessings of enjoying music to transform the lives of needy students.
